The WW x Jimmy Teflon Interview

What’s good everyone? We back with another Forecast, by way of interview from a Reno, NV based artist named Jimmy Teflon. He has been on a run of singles since 2020 and has been working on his upcoming album ‘Money Talks.’ After reaching out with the upcoming release, we linked up with him and Bozzy to talk about what they have been working on collectively. The two have been working hard to put out quality music and show love to their peers any chance they can.

For the interview, we keep it simple and introductory to Jimmy’s musical endeavors. Jimmy spent time showing us some unreleased records before the discussion, where we discuss the following: Jimmy's early days of music, his style's influences, working with his peers, the creative process for his album, appreciation for the local scene, and much more! After hearing many previews of the album, it is safe to say that Jimmy has been taking his craft serious and is ready to take it to the next level.

Don’t just take our word for it, hear it from Jimmy himself and give the interview a watch. It is entertaining and hilarious at times. It is unapologetically authentic to Jimmy and Bozzy’s character. You will get a good feel for who they are as creatives when watching this video. Get ready for ‘Money Talks’ which hits all streaming platforms on December 19th.

Down below, you can find the current catalog from Jimmy Teflon that is available. Get caught up before the album drops and follow him on IG with the button at the bottom. Also, tell a friend to subscribe to the YouTube channel today. Run it up!

Cast Away$ - One Less Lonely Mind (Official Audio)

What’s good everybody? Isn’t it crazy how fast time goes? The year is almost over and it’s coming up on the 1 year anniversary of The Weather Watcher blog that initially started off Instagram. Lots of dope music has come out in that time, a lot has changed with the page since then. One thing that has not changed is the amazing talent possessed by the artists we highlight. Today’s forecast comes from our nearby neighboring Lake Tahoe spitters, the Cast Away$.

The song is titled “One Less Lonely Mind” and is an emotionally intelligent demonstration expression. Since their last EP this spring, they have been on a dope run of singles alongside visuals. This song is no different, perhaps a large leap in their creative development. The lyrical performance, beat selection, mix/master, and a well executed roll out for this one: makes it a significant moment in their catalog. The crew does what they always do, bring the best out of each other.

“One less lonely mind, I was feeling your vibe and your energy no lie. One of a kind, I was trying to decide if I should really stay another night. Running and running you got me running around in circles. Honestly baby, know I never meant to hurt you. Wondering if I even deserve you, I would stop the whole world if you want to.”

The song comes in with a melodic hook from O.D. followed by him on the first verse. Speaking from the heart and pouring his pen into the track every time he hops on the mic. He paints a scenario for listeners and creates a cinematic listening experience by sharing his take on the topic. It’s not easy when uncertainty gets in between a good thing. Perhaps the hardest thing to cope with when nothing else makes sense of it at all. It’s hard to express the words but something about this verse helps relieve the complications of those type of feelings. It is a therapeutic listen immediately from the jump.

”Phone on, hit my section, ask some questions about my track sheet. You never knew who I is, if you did, you wouldn’t be asking. Sometimes I’m down but I’ll always keep that traction.”

After the hook, comes a quick bridge from Kasper, who takes his brief part to elevate the record with his contrasting vocals between O.D. towards the last verse by $ins. Kasper brings a unique style that isn’t something I can compare anything else to. Always delivering with a cadence containing some sort of intangible texture, which makes for an attention grabbing performance. For only being a 4 bar section, it was impactful.

“Why you even asking? It don’t make sense, I played myself, you didn’t pay rent.”

To be genuine and selfless with another is not always met with reciprocation. If it is, it does not seem to be for long. The pain and betrayal felt, from someone you catered to endlessly, when they switch up on you is excruciating. It doesn’t make sense, you can focus on yourself and do the things that make you feel again but it does not help. The pain will always be there and will not ever leave but the way we cope with it going forward. The lessons we learned from the hurt we feel can be the most effective means of closure. You learn not to do certain things. $ins does a tremendous job at articulating the hurt of a sure thing becoming questionable. Closing out the song with emotions many of us can relate to. This song is contagious and will be stuck in your head for sure.

If you have not already, go follow the group below and stream the record. Recorded by Bozzy of For//You Productions and cover art photographed Jon “JK The Visual” Gomez then edited by Abasto.Co. Model is Bella McMinn. Stay tuned for more dope releases from the region!

Lil Traffic - No Shame (Official Audio)

What’s good everybody? Today we take it back about two weeks on the most recent single from Lil Traffic. The track is titled “No Shame” and its a banger. It has been a productive year for Lil Traffic with a series of singles seeing release for 2021. Traffic continues to provide his listeners with a variety of different styles to enjoy.

With every song being its own moment, Traffic has been locked in on developing a cohesive sound without every song sounding the same. The growth displayed over his catalog span is gradual and organic to the artist’s sound. You can get the sense that Traffic has fun making music and is particular on what he chooses to release. In doing so, he leaves a great impression on the ears every time.

“I’m at the table throwing money, I’m in Reno. And I ain’t heard of you my n***a, you nobody we know. Got a bad little shorty, shorty straight out of Chino. And I be sippin’ Act, she love to sip on some Vino.”

Traffic is out here enjoying life and just experiencing it however it unfolds. It’s a unique lifestyle trying to push this music thing and Traffic embraces it. He has been working for years and there’s no time to be light footed about it. It’s all gas no brakes when Traffic walks in the building or he will not be involved. You can hear the confidence in the delivery and poise in cadence.

No matter what the setting is, this song will directly apply. You may want to tuck this one for the aux cord at the function. High energy and slick wordplay delivered the whole time. The world of rap in 2021 can be difficult to navigate without a distinct blueprint to follow. Artists like Lil Traffic that can’t be contained in a box are built exactly for the world of music these days. This song is a vibe and a mood for any type of person.

“I been balling, I be playin’ for Golden State. I done got rid of my drugs, they decide my fate. Life is a game, bitch you better go play. That whip is white, I call it cocaine.”

Lil Traffic slides all over the beat with a style that can’t be duplicated. Verse two sees him stepping out with a bad bitch for a night on the town. Although short, it’s impactful and sets up a movie for listeners to imagine. Traffic expects more out of life and does an amazing job manifesting that. If you ever need motivation, put on some Lil Traffic and whatever you need to do will get handled! Although the song is on the shorter side at under two minutes, you’ll find yourself on repeat a few times with it.

Be sure to stream “No Shame” down below and follow Lil Traffic on social media. Add this one to the playlist.
